Most Fit Student Awards
The Results are in! We now have the results of the UBC Sprint Final Contest held at the Cardio Karate Center.
The final evaluation and contest was held on Saturday, December 6th and Tuesday, December 10. Twenty-two UBC Sprint contestants participated in the Fitness Contest. The contest was based on how a contestant placed on the fitness evaluation charts in four categories: Push Ups and Sit Ups (performed in one minute), Flexibility (sit and reach) and the One Mile Walk or 1.5 Walk/Run. Points were awarded based on how contestants placed on the fitness charts.
Ten points were awarded for being off the chart (in the good way) and then it dropped to nine points for the top of the chart, and all the way down to one point – going from from the top down. There were two exceptions:
1. The first was if a female performed Full Body Push Ups instead of modified, she had a potential for a Max “off the chart” score of 15 points and then working down to one.
2. The second was if a contestant did the one-mile walk instead of running the 1.5 mile walk/run, the max score they could receive was 5 points.
The contestants with the most total points in their age category will be awarded a medal and declared MOST FIT for that age and gender.
Congratulations to everyone who participated! Never forget that 90% of success is just showing up.
Congratulation Sandy Hyde!

Wow! Gongrats to top 3! Am I even close? 1 week I am 40!!! Jim, am I slacking or should I be Bumped up? Damn, Thought I was in shape! Getting older SUCKS!!!!!!!
I did 57 push ups, 46 sits ups, 26 flex, and mile in 12.45 @ 39 and 3/4! What happened?
Congratulations to all who participated… it was a blast! I look forward to celebrating our accomplishments at the “UBC anniversary get-together”, (to be announced).
I’m thrilled that I did as well as I did. If I wasn’t so old I would not have won anything. Karen, if I had started at 40 I might have been a force. Jim Graden’s UBC is the best!
