First, let me tell you about my own personal experience and why you might want to join this truly unique fitness journey. You
may have heard of me in many ways: * I have run a martial arts school, and more recently martial arts fitness centers, for over 25 years. * I have been a member of two-world champion United Stated Karate teams and won an individual World kickboxing title. * I have trained thousands of people in the martial arts and turned hundreds into legitimate Black Belts. * I currently hold a 7thdegree master rank under the founding father of American Kickboxing, the
legendary Joe Lewis. Mr. Lewis was a student of the late Bruce Lee along with Chuck Norris.
* I have personally trained three world martial arts champions, including my brother Mark Graden who won a world kickboxing title at the tender age of 43 years old. That’s right, he won a world kickboxing title at 43.
I have gotten thousands of people in great shape with the Ultimate Body Challenge (UBC). My UBC program has been licensed to over five hundred martial arts and fitness studios worldwide with UBC centers in Finland, Austria, Canada, United Kingdom and of course the United States. The point I’m trying to make is you might want to listen to me when it comes to getting in shape and developing physical, mental and emotional conditioning beyond what most believe is possible.
I know that for someone to truly achieve greatness they need to have a program that’s designed just for them. I used to love training a stable of martial arts fighters, not because of any adulation or financial reward, but because it gave the athletes and me a chance to see just how good we could be.
I no longer have the desire to train fighters but I do have a new passion to take all the knowledge I acquired as a professional martial artist and fitness expert and take people beyond what they thought possible.
I will teach you much of the same martial arts philosophy and concepts I taught my top-notch students; like the concept of ‘to be like water’. This philosophy comes from Bruce Lee and was taught to me by Bruce Lee’s student, Joe Lewis. The concept is this: Water conforms to whatever its environment is. Pour water into a cup, it becomes the cup, pour it into a bowl, it becomes the bowl. Water is forever bending but all so powerful. Become like water my friend.
I once trained a beginning martial arts student for six months and by using this philosophy, and other concepts and strategies like it, he was able to defeat a two time national champion in a karate match. The champion he defeated was so impressed he became a student of mine.
I know the knowledge and philosophy taught to me will work with anyone no matter what their personal goals are. You do not have to be a top-notch athlete or martial artist to benefit from these proven principles. All you need is the desire and an open mind.
A level you cannot accomplish in a group or a team because for me to be able to get someone to that level I have to specialize the workout and motivation for that one particular person. Anytime I create a new program I always try it out on myself first
. At 45 years old I wanted to see what I could do in ten weeks. I surprised even myself! In my final fitness challenge I was able to perform all of this in one hour and in this order: Bench press 300 lbs. (off the charts for a 30 year old), 62 sit ups (off the charts for a 30 year old), 10 full body pull ups (no chart available but realize I weigh 225 lbs.), 70 push ups (off the charts for a 30 year old), and run 1.5 miles for a time of 10:06 (Superior for 40+). I suffered a calf strain two weeks prior or I would have been under 10 minutes, which was my goal at 225 lbs.
At the end of the course I was in as good, or even better, shape than I was when I was competing at a world-class level. I cannot tell you how good that felt, I can only show you how you can do it too. Do you want to know what it feels like to be in world-class physical condition?
One thing I want you to realize about training with me is that this is not about just getting in great shape. When I competed in Kickboxing at a world-class level it was not just a game like basketball, soccer or tennis.
I was a World Kickboxing Champion and to be a World Champion, not only do you have to have super skills and conditioning, you also have to conquer your fear and self doubt that comes with participating in a sport that can get you seriously injured, or even killed, if you aren’t properly prepared physically, mentally and even emotionally.
So, when I train you I will not focus just on you’re physical conditioning bu
t also on getting you ready for your fight. What fight that might be is up to you. In these trying times we have to be the best we can be to stay ahead. I want to give you that cutting edge confidence that can only come from conquering self imposed fears and physical limitations.
It goes beyond just workouts for someone to reach true greatness. They must first fully believe in themselves and their trainer. That is the kind of bond I’m looking for with the few students who would like to allow me to train them.
I’m a strong believer in measurable results so I will use an advanced level fitness challenge as a true goal that we can focus on. It becomes a contest, just like in the Olympics. An event that has a date, a goal, and a plan to get you the “off the chart” results you are looking for.
